Chapter 711: Sending Charcoal in Snow. [715]
Summary
A grain supply convoy from Wugucheng, led by Commander Zhang Xuan, struggles to navigate a muddy road in the mountains while transporting essential supplies to Liaodong City. After several failed assaults on the city, Zhang Xuan faces dwindling morale and resources. A mudslide on the southern road exacerbates the situation, prompting Zhang Xuan to consider a feigned retreat to lure out enemy forces. Meanwhile, the defending general of Liaodong City, Ning Wu Li, grapples with food shortages as supplies run low. Zhang Xuan's strategy pays off when his troops capture Goguryeo soldiers who reveal the dire food situation in the city. With the help of hunting, the Sui army extends their food supply. Unexpectedly, they receive news of capturing the new city, securing a significant grain supply and boosting morale. However, concerns arise about the whereabouts of the remaining Goguryeo troops, who may have crossed the river to seek reinforcements.Full content
