Chapter 710: Northern Allies (Part 2). [714]

Summary

During Emperor Kaihuang's reign of the Sui Dynasty, the Sumo Mohe were forced to flee south after a Goguryeo attack. Settled in Liucheng County, their leader Tudiqi eventually sought to reclaim their ancestral lands in Fuyu when Goguryeo weakened. Tudiqi mobilized his people to assist the Sui army against Goguryeo, believing it essential for their survival. As Tudiqi prepared for battle, Sui scouts led by Sun Ying coordinated an attack on the new city, which was heavily guarded by Goguryeo soldiers. The Sui scouts successfully launched a surprise attack, creating chaos among the Goguryeo defenders. As the Mohe soldiers joined the fray, the battle intensified, leading to the fall of the new city after heavy casualties on both sides.
