Chapter 709: Northern Allies (Part 1). [713]
Summary
New City, a strategically important military location for the Goguryeo army, is situated 80 miles from Liao Shui, housing 10,000 troops and a significant grain stockpile. To support the Goguryeo invasion of Liaodong, a camp with 7,000 soldiers has been established nearby, relying on laborers, including captured individuals from various ethnic groups, to transport grain. These laborers endure harsh conditions and brutal treatment, leading to a suppressed wave of escapes and growing resentment. Among them, 300 Han laborers unite under Sun Ying, a scout general of the Sui army, who plans a rebellion. With the help of a trusted aide, Sun Ying acquires a hook to access the weapon storage. The Mohe army, led by Tu Di Ji, is poised to attack New City on April 6th, coordinating with Sun Ying's group from within. As they prepare for the assault, Sun Ying and his subordinates stealthily infiltrate the weapon storage to gather arms for the uprising.Full content
