Summary

As the night deepened, Yin Shishi received urgent news of enemy troop movements while patrolling the city walls. Upon investigating, he discovered the enemy was preparing for an attack. Suddenly, he learned that Qiu Shili had betrayed them by opening the city gates, allowing enemy forces to flood in. In a desperate attempt to defend the city, Yin Shishi charged towards Chunming Gate but was met with chaos. He confronted Qiu Shili, only to be attacked by the formidable general Li Xuan Ba, who swiftly killed him. With Yin Shishi's death, the morale of his troops collapsed, leading to the fall of Chang'an City. Li Yuan then entered the Daxing Palace with his troops, where he sought the Crown Prince, Yang You. After a confrontation with Gu Yi, who took his own life rather than allow Li Yuan to capture the Crown Prince, Li Yuan found Yang You hiding. Fearing for his safety, Yang You reluctantly agreed to return to the palace with Li Yuan, who was overjoyed at his success. In the aftermath, Li Yuan established Yang You as Emperor and consolidated power, appointing his sons to key positions. His rise to power sparked widespread rebellion across the Sui Dynasty, leading to the eventual collapse of the regime. Meanwhile, in Hebei, Zhang Xuan's forces encircled the remnants of Song Jin Gang's troops, who faced imminent destruction as they were cut off and outnumbered.
