Chapter 491: The New Crown Prince's Teacher (Additional Update) [491]
Summary
Wild Encounter, a founding hero of the Great Xia, is stunned when Wang Ning An asks him to deal with Qing Tang, as he believes it's a joke. However, Wang Ning An explains that using Wild Encounter can save tens of millions of lives and take down both lands ten years earlier. Wild Encounter is initially hesitant but eventually agrees to cooperate. Wang Ning An tasks Wild Encounter with eliminating the Cui Jia in Qing Tang and offers him 3,000 troops as a reward. Wild Encounter requests 5,000 troops instead and is offered 3,000 from the hostage army, which includes over 100 members of his own family. This revelation sparks Wild Encounter's anger, but he eventually agrees to the task. Meanwhile, Wang Ning An settles Wild Encounter's affairs and allows him to secretly observe his kin among the 3,000 captives. Wild Encounter is moved to tears and volunteers to head to Qing Tang immediately. In other news, Wang Ning An has a discussion with his son and the young prince before leaving for the Western Capital. He emphasizes the importance of communication with children and arranges for the Su brothers to take over his teaching duties. However, Empress Cao intervenes, suggesting that the young prince should focus on classical studies and learn from the most learned and virtuous scholars. Zhao Zhen is persuaded to allocate time for the prince's classical studies, and a debate ensues over who should teach the prince. Wen Yan Bo recommends Master Wu Ling, while Zhao Bian suggests the Cheng brothers. Zhao Zhen decides to summon both Master Wu Ling and the Cheng brothers to teach the prince and will personally attend their lectures to assess their capabilities.Full content
