Summary

As the Liangshan army slept, two sentinels on watch were ambushed by a cavalry raid led by Li Yan Qing. The surprise attack resulted in chaos, with the camp quickly engulfed in flames and the Liangshan soldiers slaughtered. Yang Xiong, the commander, was killed by Wang Gui during the fray, marking a significant loss for Liangshan. After the massacre, Li Yan Qing entered Liaocheng, where he found the local officials had fled. He appointed Chief Clerk Lin Yi to restore order and planned to secure supplies for his troops. Li Yan Qing's forces stripped armor and weapons from the fallen, boosting morale among the soldiers. A new, exceptionally sharp sword was discovered, replacing Li Yan Qing's old weapon, while efforts continued to find him a suitable bow. After clearing the battlefield, the troops prepared to move again.
