Summary

Wang Ning An's dictionary categorizes people as useful or useless. He believes that Zhong Yuan and his son are not decisive and therefore useless. Wang Ning An meets Ye Lu Hong Ji, who is humble and courteous, but Wang Ning An senses that he is sinister and terrifying. Ye Lu Hong Ji executes over a dozen people around him, including his former confidants, and becomes introverted. Wang Ning An and Ye Lu Hong Ji have a friendly conversation, and Wang Ning An agrees to lift sanctions, return 7 million taels of silver, and expand grain trade. Ye Lu Hong Ji is stunned by Wang Ning An's generosity. They achieve a fruitful outcome, and Ye Lu Hong Ji gives Wang Ning An two personally raised Khitan fine dogs as a gift. Wang Ning An leaves the capital, and Su Xun suspects that Ye Lu Hong Ji has a bigger goal in mind. On their way back, they discover a weak woman, Xiao Guan Yin, hidden inside a statue in an abandoned temple.
