Summary

Li Yan Qing arrives at Tang Wang Village at dawn and meets Tang Yuan Er, who informs him that her family is hiding from the Liangshan bandits. He learns that her family’s carrier pigeons are at the Tang Ji Inn in the county, and he rushes there, unaware that the bandits have already taken control of Tang Yin County. Meanwhile, Hu Qing Er, a skilled deputy commander of the Liangshan army, leads her female soldiers into the county and witnesses the chaos and looting caused by Wang Ying's men. Enraged, she confronts them, kills several soldiers, and demands an end to the pillaging. She discovers that County Magistrate Zhou Chun has been captured and is in danger, as Wang Ying threatens his pregnant wife, Gao Shi. Hu Qing Er intervenes, using her whip to control Wang Ying and forces him to command his men to stop the chaos. Gao Shi pleads for help, revealing that her husband is a friend of Li Yan Qing. Hu Qing Er vows to assist her and sets off to find her father for help. Meanwhile, Li Yan Qing arrives in the devastated county, witnessing the destruction and loss of life, including the death of familiar faces like Aunt Mao. He learns of the tragic fate of the Tang family and rushes to the Tang Ji Inn, where he finds Tang Lian murdered. Distraught, he resolves to send a message for help using the carrier pigeons at the inn.
