Summary

In a forest, a warhorse panics, signaling a retreat of Western Xia soldiers, giving temporary relief to the Song soldiers. Li Yan Qing orders fire arrows as a desperate defense against the approaching enemy rafts. The fire spreads rapidly, causing the Western Xia soldiers to retreat. Liu Qi ignites a fire in a rocky area, while the Song soldiers shoot arrows at the rafts, which are defended by Western Xia shields. Li Yan Qing devises a plan for swimming soldiers to puncture the rafts, leading to chaos and drowning among the Western Xia troops. After fierce fighting and a devastating wildfire, the Song army successfully defends the Tiger Roar Gorge dam, but suffers significant casualties. Reinforcements arrive, and Li Yan Qing and Liu Qi are praised for their victory. However, they warn that the Western Xia will likely return.
