The Great Idle Person of the Zhenguan Era.
Chapter 23: White Sacred Light. [24]
Summary
Li Su and Wang Zhuang were in school, listening to Mr. Guo read "The Thousand Character Classic". Li Su found the text too complicated for kids who couldn't recognize a single character and suggested using simpler texts like "The Three Character Classic" or "The Hundred Family Surnames". However, he stopped himself from revealing the content of "The Three Character Classic" as it contained subversive material against the Li dynasty. Wang Zhuang believed Li Su's explanation of a white Sheng Guang surrounding Confucian scholars, making them learn poetry effortlessly, and felt sad for not being surrounded by it. After school, Li Su returned home, where his father, Li Dao Zheng, had prepared dinner and bought expensive writing materials, a brush, inkstone, and ink, for Li Su to use as a scholar.Full content
