Judgment of Dayu.

Chapter 156: "Winds and Clouds of the Imperial Palace: Grievances in the Martial Arts World". [158]

Summary

Dayu informed the Grand Minister of Heaven, Shangguan, to take over the Yi Di Palace's defense and restructure the Inner Court after Yi Di's departure. Yi Di's officials were examined, and troops were dispatched to quell unrest. The Inner Court's Langwei Bureau was renamed Guanglu Bureau, now under the Summer Official Military Department, effectively placing Yi Di under house arrest. Troops were relocated, and all officials were suspended for examination. Most Inner Court officials were found innocent, while those close to Yi Di faced severe punishment, including torture and execution for dissent. Yi Di accepted Dayu's decision to issue an edict of remorse and relocate his relatives. Dayu ordered the execution of relatives of major offenders, causing widespread fear. The situation complicated further with the involvement of Tie Wa's brother and Bai Wa in the assassination plot, leading Dayu to consider their contributions while grappling with the need for justice against the Langwei Bureau's head.
