Judgment of Dayu.
Chapter 157: "Winds and Clouds of the Imperial Throne: The Lament of the White Baby's Wife and Emperor Yi". [159]
Summary
Dayu and Xia Qi sought counsel from Tai Shi regarding Bai Wa's wife, concluding that holding her accountable would implicate Bai Wa and Tie Wa, who deserved rewards for their merits. Bai Wa's actions during the assassination plot were deemed mitigating, leading Dayu to spare his wife from execution, instead exiling her. Yi Di chose the northern border of Liangzhou for his clan's exile. The court announced executions for major criminals involved in the assassination, with Yi Di overseeing them, but he fainted during the process. Afterward, he was comforted by his family and decided to resign, citing his unworthiness. Dayu did not respond to the resignation, as it was not the right time, and he aimed to eliminate Yi Di's influence. Meanwhile, Dayu planned to have Yi Di recommend Xia Qi as his successor. News of battlefield developments prompted Dayu to mobilize troops to prevent the rebels from gaining strength.Full content
