Summary
In Jining, a mad drunkard, despite his family's poverty, prioritized alcohol, catching the attention of the new governor who shared his drinking habits. Their bond led the drunkard to leverage his relationship for favors, although the governor grew to resent him. After a rude encounter, the governor, feeling sympathetic, had the drunkard's friends buy him land. Meanwhile, in Ping Le, Liu Chi Shui, a once-promising student, indulged in leisure until he encountered a beautiful woman named Feng Xian, whom he believed was a fox spirit. Their relationship blossomed despite familial tensions, leading to gifts and exchanges. Eventually, Feng Xian left due to family pressures, leaving Liu heartbroken.
