Summary

In Volume 10 of "Chang Ting," Shi Tai Pu, a man passionate about talismans and spells, becomes a disciple of a Taoist priest, Wang Chi Cheng. After mastering ghost-exorcising spells, Shi Tai Pu is approached by an old man, Weng, seeking help for his daughter, Hong Ting, possessed by a spirit. Shi Tai Pu agrees to help but becomes entangled in a deal with a ghost who loves Hong Ting and demands her sister, Chang Ting, be betrothed to him in return for his assistance. As Shi Tai Pu neglects his duties, the situation worsens, leading to a near-fatal betrayal. Eventually, after much turmoil and a year apart, Chang Ting disappears, leaving Shi Tai Pu heartbroken and desperate for news of her.
