Volume 110: Under the Great Lord City: The Battle of the Dog Rong and Western Qiang Against the Three Armies. [112]

Summary

The chapter describes the urgent response of the Ji clan's lord to an invasion by the Dog Rong and Western Qiang. He organizes defenses and alerts the local court, prompting Grand Chancellor Xia Qi to strategize with Dayu. They decide to mobilize troops, including three garrisons from Wang Ji and additional forces from the Xiahou clan, to confront the invaders. Despite the enemy's large numbers, the Ji clan, under the experienced command of Uncle Nan Shan, mounts a strong defense of Ji City. The Dog Rong and Western Qiang suffer heavy losses during their assaults and eventually decide to bypass Ji City for a raid on Wang Ji. Meanwhile, the Xiahou clan's commander leads reinforcements into Ji territory, and a plan is devised to ambush the enemy in a narrow gorge, setting the stage for a potential decisive victory.
