Summary

Summary of the story: Zhang Cheng and his brother Ne endure a challenging life with a cruel stepmother. Cheng secretly helps Ne by stealing food and assisting him with firewood. When a tiger attacks Cheng in the mountains, Ne attempts to save him but believes Cheng has died. Na (Ne) dies and experiences a supernatural journey, eventually being revived. They miraculously reunite in Jinling, where they discover their true family history through a deputy and Tai Fu Ren, who reveals their complex familial connections and past struggles during the tumultuous Ming Dynasty transition.
