Summary

Liu Quan tells the story of Hou, a cow doctor who helps farmers and shows kindness to a statue of Liu Quan. After falling ill, Hou is taken to the underworld, where he faces false accusations from a horse. With the help of a man in green and Liu Quan, he is exonerated. They reveal their identities, thanking Hou for his past kindness. He learns he has been dead for two days and vows to do good deeds. At eighty, he meets Liu Quan again, who informs him of his imminent death and offers him a role in the underworld. Hou prepares for his passing and peacefully enters the coffin, embracing his fate.
