Summary

Ji Sheng from the E family struggles with a troublesome fox stealing from him. Despite his prayers and attempts to summon help, the fox continues its mischief. After a series of events involving offerings of coins and food, the fox eventually stops bothering the family. However, after drinking wine given by the fox, Ji Sheng steals from a wealthy household. His wife realizes the fox's influence and helps him return the stolen items. Despite doing well in his exams, a notice of his theft tarnishes his reputation. Ultimately, Ji Sheng reflects on his entrapment by the fox, realizing that his own actions led to his disgrace.
