Chapter 978: Battle of Taiyuan (19). [982]

Summary

Sun Ying and his soldiers speculate that camels are carrying sheepskin rafts. After confirming the size and capacity of the rafts, Sun Ying devises a plan to take advantage of the Turkic soldiers' meal break. As the guards leave to eat, Turkic soldiers set fire to the camel herd, causing chaos. Amidst the confusion, Sun Ying's men successfully steal a camel loaded with sheepskin rafts and lead it into the forest. The Turkic general, Wen Mu Tie, realizes a camel is missing and orders a search, but Sun Ying's team has already unloaded the rafts and escaped. The Sui-Tang allied forces advance, with Zhang Xuan receiving news of the successful operation from Sun Ying, who reports the theft of the sheepskin rafts.
