Chapter 967: Battle of Taiyuan (8). [971]

Summary

The Battle of Loufan Pass intensifies as Kang Qiaoli leads 30,000 Turkic troops against the Sui army, which, despite being outnumbered and lacking heavy artillery, fiercely defends the city. A sudden attack from the north reveals that Sui reinforcements, numbering around 30,000, are approaching, causing panic among the Turkic forces. Kang Qiaoli orders a charge to buy time for his troops to capture Loufan Pass. He deploys his secret weapon, the elite warrior Mancha and his 500 guards, to storm the city wall. Meanwhile, A Cai, mourning the death of his mentor Qiao Bo Ci, receives Kang Qiaoli's orders and rallies the remaining Sijie troops to resist the Sui cavalry. As both sides suffer heavy casualties, the battle reaches a critical point with the arrival of Sui reinforcements, raising hopes for the defenders. The outcome hinges on whether A Cai's troops can hold off the attackers for just half an hour longer.
