Chapter 942: Bloodbath at Zhangye, Lord Bo Dao Defends the City [942]
Summary
In Liangzhou, Zhangye, Yang Qian Wan leads a massive army of 150,000 Qiang Di rebels, having destroyed surrounding villages to instill fear in the citizens. However, the people of Zhangye, well-fed and secure, are not intimidated, as Zhang Ji has already taken measures to protect them. Yang Qian Wan underestimates the defenders, who number only 30,000 but are determined to resist. As the Qiang Di army approaches, Yang Qian Wan arrogantly offers the defenders a chance to surrender, promising titles and lands. Hao Zhao, the commander of the defenders, dismisses his threats and challenges him to attack. When the Qiang Di charge at the city gates, the defenders laugh and prepare their catapults, which begin to decimate the attacking forces. The Qiang Di soldiers panic under the onslaught, leading to chaos and a hasty retreat, resulting in heavy losses for their side. Despite the setback, Yang Qian Wan remains confident, claiming he has a trump card to continue the fight against the Han.Full content
