Chapter 940: East Line Standoff. [944]
Summary
The Turkic army faced heavy losses on both the western and eastern fronts, with 15,000 men lost in the west and over 8,400 in the east during attempts to breach the Northern Sui defenses at Zihe and Hugu Pass. Fang Tong, leading the eastern forces, aimed to catch the Sui off guard but encountered a formidable fortress at Hugu Pass. Despite planning a night raid to set fire to the Sui camp, the Turkic soldiers became lost in the forest. As they rested, Sui soldiers ambushed them, resulting in the deaths of all 1,000 Turkic soldiers, including their commander A Shi Na Su Tu. The Sui army ensured no one escaped before retreating.Full content
