Summary

Kang Qiao Li, reinstated by Chuluo Khan, leads a siege against the Sui army at the Purple River Pass. Despite heavy casualties from the Sui's fierce defense, he orders additional troops to attack. The Turkic army, numbering twenty thousand, faces fierce resistance, with many soldiers scaling the walls but suffering significant losses. Zhang Zhen Qiu, the Sui commander, struggles to defend against a surprise attack from the west, ultimately leading to his death. As the Sui soldiers begin to retreat, the Turkic forces capture the pass, demolishing the defenses. In the aftermath, Han Qian Hui and three others are left behind to light a signal fire, marking the fall of the pass and their chance for redemption.
