Summary

Zhang Xuan reflects on his conversation with Lu Zhuo, realizing the unspoken emotions between him and Lu Qing. He senses Lu Zhuo's concern about reputation and the Cui family's potential trouble. As guests arrive, Zhang Xuan meets several young nobles, feeling out of place due to his humble attire compared to their opulence. Despite his background as a guard, he remains confident. The nobles, however, look down on him, revealing the rigid social hierarchies of their society. As the conversation shifts to politics and courtesans, Zhang Xuan feels increasingly isolated, ultimately deciding to leave, while the nobles continue to mock him subtly.
