Summary

Wu Mian and his companions arrive at a crowded pond in the Miao village to welcome Wu Zu, the main event of the night. Lin Huo, a respected figure, tries to engage Wu Mian in conversation. As darkness falls, a glowing waterfall surprises everyone, and Wu Zu emerges, selecting a successor among the Miao men by lighting incense. Wu Mian, confused by the proceedings, inadvertently becomes the first to be eliminated. Returning home, he ponders the reasons behind his ousting. Meanwhile, a festive celebration ensues for the new Wu Zu, with Lin Huo at the center. Wu Mian later examines Lin Huo, discovering a surprising connection between them.
