Summary

Shi Mu faces a humanoid monster, the Hopping Vampire, and attempts to attack it with his blade, but his strikes only inflict shallow wounds. The monster retaliates fiercely, injuring Shi Mu and creating a chaotic battle. Despite the monster's strength, Shi Mu manages to land a critical blow, decapitating it after being prompted by Zhong Nian Nan Zi to attack its weak point. After the battle, Zhong Nian Nan Zi, mortally wounded, entrusts his daughter, Zhong Xiu, to Shi Mu before dying. Grieving, Zhong Xiu and Shi Mu bury her father, and Shi Mu decides to dispose of the monster's corpse to prevent attracting wild beasts.
