The Heroic Journey Across the World.

Chapter 9: Entering the Hundred Herb Kingdom. [46]

Summary

Hao Qi searched underground for hours, hunting small animals but failing to find the elusive underground terror salamander, believed to be extinct in the area due to extensive hunting. Zhang Heng informed him that entering the second underground layer, where the salamanders might still exist, was perilous and required navigating known entrances, which were heavily explored. The second layer posed geological and biological dangers, with unknown creatures that could threaten even experienced adventurers. Intrigued by the idea of the third underground layer, which had seen little exploration and was deemed a forbidden zone, Hao Qi inquired about entry requirements. Zhang Heng explained that solo explorers might not need permission, but team expeditions would require government reporting. Both men finished their meal and rested before continuing their journey, marveling at the underground wonders. After three days, they emerged into the sunlight, feeling relieved. Hao Qi was eager to explore the vast, modern city of the Baicao Kingdom and the National Medical University, determined to make money for future adventures.
