Chapter 87: Ghost Tribe Blood Battle: Cross the River Conflict. [89]
Summary
On the third day of battle, the Ghost Clan feigned an attack on the Nakahara court's left army camp while their allied forces maneuvered to seize a river crossing. The Xia Guan Bing Ma Si Zheng assessed the situation and realized the enemy's true intention was to cross the river and threaten Nakahara's core territories. He ordered his troops to prevent the crossing by destroying ferries and engaging the enemy. Despite some initial success, the Nakahara forces faced heavy losses due to being outside their protective defenses. The Nakahara court's forces were outnumbered but had stable supplies, while the Ghost Clan struggled with logistics. Both sides recognized the need for a strategic war of attrition, with the Nakahara court aiming to exhaust the enemy. Meanwhile, the Zhen Clan's Taibao held firm against the Sanmiao coalition, avoiding a decisive battle despite being outnumbered. The Sanmiao coalition sought to coordinate with the Ghost Clan to attack Nakahara's vital areas, but faced setbacks, including the death of their leader, Hu Wei Guan.Full content
