Summary

Zhang Shun, accompanied by five hundred elite soldiers, stealthily observes an enemy camp, noting its layout and vulnerabilities. After eliminating two sentries with poisoned crossbow bolts, he signals his troops to charge. The Song army swiftly infiltrates the stronghold, catching many Xixia soldiers off guard, leading to a massacre and the capture of a few prisoners for intelligence. Zhang Shun and his men head to the rear camp gate, where they encounter and kill a leader before the chaos spreads to the rear camp. In a surprise attack lasting half an hour, the Xixia soldiers are completely annihilated. Following their victory, Yan Qing leads eight hundred soldiers disguised in Xixia armor toward Taqie Zhai, a strategically vital location. They disable beacon towers along the way to prevent the enemy from signaling for reinforcements. Upon reaching Taqie Zhai, they find it heavily guarded but well-positioned. That night, Yan Qing stealthily approaches a beacon tower, climbing to the top while avoiding detection. He discovers a sentinel unaware of the impending ambush. As the attack unfolds, the Xixia soldiers are caught off guard, leading to their demise.
