Summary

Li Yan Qing has been studying at the county school for a month, balancing archery, horseback riding, and scripture study. He eagerly attends a poetry lecture, having neglected poetry due to its absence in recent examinations. While on his way, he unexpectedly encounters his father, Li Da Qi, who has come to visit. They share a meal at Qing Fu Tower, where Li Da Qi reveals he is there to discuss a serious matter concerning the 2nd Clan Chief, Li Wen Gui. Li Yan Qing expresses anger over Li Wen Gui's attempts to undermine him during the county examination. He shares evidence of Li Wen Gui's underhanded requests involving exam papers. Li Da Qi, shocked and angered by his elder's actions, vows to support his son. They also discuss Li Wen Gui's demand for Li Yan Qing's horse, Snow Sword, which Li Wen Gui claims was promised to his grandson. Li Yan Qing firmly states that the horse was given to him by the Clan Chief and will not be returned without proper discussion. This situation leads to tension, indicating that the conflict with Li Wen Gui is far from over.
