Summary

In Jiangxia County, Qin Qiong successfully led a surprise attack against the Liang troops, defeating them and seizing over four million pounds of pig iron. This victory prompted Li Shi Min to advance with his forces, leading to the occupation of several counties. Meanwhile, General Li Xiao Gong moved towards Yiling County, which was strategically important but had no stationed troops due to a previous agreement. Xu Shao, the governor of Yiling, prepared for the arrival of Tang troops while being cautious of potential Sui cavalry attacks. Despite his worries, Xu Shao organized the transportation of grain to the city. Unbeknownst to him, Sui soldiers had infiltrated Yiling disguised as laborers, planning to sabotage the Tang army's supplies. As night fell, the Sui soldiers executed their plan, locking down Tang ships and setting them ablaze, prompting an alarm from the Tang soldiers.
