Summary

Meng Hai Gong and his cavalry, after evading the Sui army's pursuit, receive distressing news about his son, Meng Yi, who is believed to be in danger after their forces were defeated. Despite his concern, Meng Hai Gong prioritizes his own escape and heads south to cross the Qiantang River. Upon reaching Wenxing Town, he discovers a floating bridge that appears to be a trap set by the Sui army, which soon confirms his suspicions. As he attempts to cross, the Sui navy arrives and destroys the bridge, causing Meng Hai Gong and his men to fall into the river, where they face capture.
