Summary

Li Yan Qing expresses his frustration with Mo Jun for not communicating effectively regarding a protest that caused a public uproar. Mo Jun acknowledges his mistake but highlights the potential benefits of public support for their cause. Despite Li Yan Qing's desire for peace and rest, Mo Jun insists on maintaining his title as commander for the sake of morale among the soldiers. After a taxing day, Li Yan Qing seeks distraction and summons dancers, reflecting on his long absence from his wife. The next day, he visits Bao Yan Zhai, a rouge shop he is connected to, to check on its operations. There, he meets A Mei, a clerk managing the shop in his father's absence, and learns about stock shortages and financial issues. A Mei expresses her concerns about uncollected payments, particularly a debt owed by Bai Jin, the son of a notable family.
