Summary

Li Su, inventor of the movable-type printing technique, was shocked by an offer to buy his technical knowledge for 50 guan, a ridiculous price. He suspected the Cheng Family, notorious for their evil deeds in Chang'an City, but couldn't believe they'd resort to destroying his shop and trying to buy the technique secretly, which was out of character for them. Li Su decided to find Cheng Chu, but first, he prepared by writing and drawing. However, before he could act, Zhao, the shopkeeper, was arrested and accused of being involved in a murder case. Li Su followed the shop assistant into Chang'an City and stood outside the Cheng Family's grand estate, realizing the true extent of their power. He decided to probe Cheng Chu, and if he revealed any involvement, Li Su would hand over the secret recipe and leave. After waiting, Li Su blocked Cheng Chu's horse and tried to reason with him, but was instead carried into the Cheng Family's estate, where he was to attend a banquet.
