Chapter 730: Assault on the Enemy Camp. [735]
Summary
More than 20 warships, known as Kirin or "centipede ships," approached the Sa River at night, led by a formidable 2,500 stone vessel. These ships, designed for speed and maneuverability, swiftly navigated the river despite the presence of lookout towers. Sui scouts stealthily eliminated sentinels in the towers before launching an assault on the Goguryeo camp. As the Sui fleet advanced, alarms rang out in the Goguryeo camp, where 50,000 soldiers were divided into two factions under different commanders. Despite initial disbelief about the threat posed by the Sui ships, panic ensued as the leading ship crashed through the camp's water gate, leading to chaos and a fiery assault on the grain supplies. The Sui soldiers began their attack, overwhelming the Goguryeo defenses.Full content
