Summary

The story unfolds at Asakusa Inn, where the innkeeper laments the decline in guests due to a series of mysterious deaths. A young servant, Ding Zhi, mentions a demon-slaying warrior, Yamada, who has been killing demons in the capital. Tension escalates when a hostile samurai bursts in, seeking Yamada, accusing the innkeeper of harboring him. Despite the innkeeper's pleas of innocence, the samurai threatens him with arrest. The innkeeper, fearing for his life, suggests Yamada may be at Shiratori Temple, where a coffin from the inn was sent. Meanwhile, Pei Zi Yun arrives at the temple, offering incense money and witnessing the monks chanting. However, chaos erupts as warriors invade the temple, searching for Yamada, who is revealed to be Pei Zi Yun himself.
