Summary

Li Chao informed Cheng Qian and the Bearded Guest about their return to Xiangyang, despite their reluctance. The journey took five days, during which Ping Yang expressed her sadness at leaving their idyllic life on Wudang Mountain. Upon arrival, Empress Chang Sun welcomed them warmly, revealing a giant blue whale captured near Yangzhou, which was seen as a good omen during a famine. The whale was butchered, providing an abundance of meat for the people. Li Chao, skeptical of omens, was nonetheless intrigued by the event. Cheng Qian, curious about whale meat, learned about its various preparations, including raw consumption.
