Tokyo: I Sheltered the Homeless girl (1-156).
Chapter 69: The Secret Behind the Doorbell. [68]
Summary
In this chapter, Maki Miyazawa finds herself wearing Sawayama Haruno's loose white T-shirt, relishing the idea of a girlfriend wearing her boyfriend's clothes. She reflects on her twin sister Mana’s past behavior of hoarding one of Haruno’s shirts, coming to understand and relate to it now. Her admiration extends to Haruno's scent, which she finds irresistible compared to other guys. While drying her hair, her musings are interrupted by the unexpected ringing of the doorbell late at night. Maki's initial curiosity turns to fear as she contemplates who could be at the door, realizing it’s unlikely to be anyone she knows. After hesitating and convincing herself not to check the peephole due to horror movie tropes, she calls Haruno in a panic. Haruno is surprised but reassures her and rushes home, reminding her to lock her door and stay safe. As Haruno makes his way back, he notes the unusually busy streets and reflects on Maki’s fear, acknowledging the societal norm against visiting others at night. Upon returning home, he finds no one at the door and is perplexed by the situation. He ponders the necessity of contacting the apartment manager about the odd disturbance, contemplating the advanced security measures of the building while hearing a mysterious sound behind him.Full content
