Chapter 68: The Invincible Feeling of Surrender. [67]
Summary
In Chapter 95, Sawayama Haruno faces off against Naoha Ezaki in a lighthearted arm wrestling match. Naoha, determined to win, challenges Haruno to not hold back, and he, while initially considering her feelings, decides to treat her as a worthy opponent. As they struggle, Naoha feels overwhelmed and experiences an unusual sense of helplessness against Haruno's strength, a stark contrast to her usual confidence derived from years of training. This new sensation pushes her into a psychological state of submission and reflection about dominance and inferiority. Despite Naoha's best efforts, Haruno ultimately wins, causing her to confront feelings of vulnerability that she has never experienced before. Confused and intrigued by this feeling, she is left to ponder the implications of her defeat. After the match, Haruno tries to comfort her, but she feels a strange mix of shame and curiosity about her response to his strength. She finds herself questioning her own reactions and even feels a sense of excitement at the thought of his dominance. As the chapter progresses into Chapter 96, Naoha and Haruno join her brother and their friend Mine Shiori for dinner. Her brother, embodying a cultural expectation of generosity, pays for the meal, which Haruno finds affirming. Despite feeling moved by her brother's kindness, Haruno cannot shake off the complex emotions stemming from her earlier experience with Naoha. The chapter ends with Haruno thinking about home and her friend Maki Miyazawa, hinting at the continuing exploration of interpersonal dynamics and self-discovery.Full content
