Summary

Xu Liao, unable to perform the ritual at the South Sea Dragon Palace, refined the surrounding void, trapping the demon lord Zhang Ji in a grand formation. Unaware of the trap, Zhang Ji advanced in power while traversing illusory realms, which were manifestations of Xu Liao's design. After returning to his duties, Zhang Ji abducted the South Sea Dragon King and vanished. The South Sea's people were confused, and the High Priest suspected interference but lacked evidence. Xu Liao orchestrated the event, instructing Zhang Ji to bring the Dragon King to Yujin Mountain for cultivation. The Dragon King, restrained by powerful treasures, pretended to submit to Xu Liao, who guided him in cultivating the grand formation. After refining the treasures, Xu Liao released the Dragon King, who attempted to escape but was suppressed again. Xu Liao revealed his allegiance to Ying Wang, demanding the Dragon King's secrets in exchange for freedom. Eventually, the Dragon King surrendered, believing he had no choice but to serve Ying Wang, and shared the method to control the South Sea Dragon Palace with Xu Liao.
