Summary

Wei Jin doubts the swift intelligence regarding the Wagang Army's location and suspects Yang Qing's motives after their recent disagreement. As they plan to join Yang Qing's forces, they receive alarming news that they are surrounded by enemy troops. Despite realizing they have been betrayed, Wei Jin attempts to break through the encirclement but suffers a fatal injury during the battle. Wei Wen Tong arrives just in time to help some of the Sui troops escape, but the majority are either killed or captured. Wei Jin dies shortly after revealing his suspicions about Wang Shichong's betrayal to Du Ruhui. Meanwhile, Hao Xiaode's attack on Luokou Warehouse fails, leading to a crushing defeat for the Wagang Army at the hands of Wang Shichong's forces. After burying Wei Jin, Du Ruhui decides to honor his uncle's last wish by seeking refuge with Zhang Xuan, while Wei Wen Tong chooses to repay Zhang Xuan's earlier kindness. They plan to travel north to Beihai County, aiming to cross the Yellow River for safety and supplies.
