Summary

Zhang Xuan meets the legendary Wei Chi Gong, who seeks work as a guard due to financial struggles. After a brief negotiation, Zhang Xuan hires him with a generous payment plan. Wei Chi Gong expresses gratitude and leaves to settle his family. The next day, he arrives with his gear, and the group departs towards Julu Lake. Along the way, they meet Li Jing, a military advisor, who joins their journey. Meanwhile, in a town called Qikou, a group of men, suspected to be bandits, arrives at an inn, where the innkeeper, Jin, becomes wary. The leader, Dou, inquires about Julu Lake and offers gold to hire a guide, convincing Jin to let his son lead them.
