Summary

In a moment of despair, Mu Xing witnesses his mother, a devourer, die at his feet after a painful encounter. A man named Uncle Yan appears, explaining that Mu Xing's mother didn't want to harm him and offers to take him away to find a real home. Mu Xing, grieving, struggles with the loss but ultimately decides to follow Uncle Yan. Meanwhile, Kirin, a psychologist, decides to take a year off to reassess his life, expressing gratitude to his receptionist, Miss Qin, by gifting her emerald earrings. As the clinic quiets down, Kirin enjoys a moment of peace, brewing coffee and listening to music.
