Summary

Han Qi experiences a drastic shift in emotions as he goes from feeling relieved about escaping a dangerous situation to becoming a prisoner at the hands of Wang Ning An. Despite his anger and desire for revenge, Han Qi is paralyzed by fear of the Emperor's power. As he contemplates his predicament, news of his interception spreads among officials, causing widespread concern. Jia Chang Chao, who had supported Han Qi's reassignment, becomes anxious about Wang Ning An's aggressive actions and rushes to seek an audience with the Emperor. However, he learns that Wang Ning An has already been granted a private audience, raising alarm about the potential consequences for Han Qi. In the Emperor's quarters, Wang Ning An presents evidence of Han Qi's corruption involving embezzlement and manipulation of grain funds, linking him to the Wang family and their schemes to exploit the imperial treasury. Zhao Zhen, the Emperor, is furious upon hearing the details of the financial misconduct and demands that Han Qi be brought before him to answer for his actions. Han Qi enters, trembling and kneeling, ready to face the Emperor's wrath.
