Chapter 576: The Use of the Emperor's Sword (Additional Update) [576]

Summary

Han Qi, the chancellor, was finally able to leave the capital after obtaining his formal documents, but he was met with a surprise encounter with his old rival, Wang Ning An, at the Ten-Mile Long Pavilion. Wang Ning An, who had returned from his mission to Bashu, was determined to confront Han Qi about his alleged wrongdoings. Han Qi, however, was not intimidated and tried to leave, but Wang Ning An blocked his path and revealed that he had the Emperor's sword, which gave him the authority to investigate and punish Han Qi. Wang Ning An accused Han Qi of embezzling millions in wealth and brought up the past case of Jiao Yong, who was beheaded by Han Qi without a fair trial. Han Qi, realizing that he was in a difficult situation, tried to reason with Wang Ning An, but the latter was determined to bring him to justice. In the end, Han Qi was forced to surrender and agree to go with Wang Ning An to the Golden Palace. The encounter ended with Han Qi and his son, Han Zhong Yan, being humiliated and forced to retreat, with Wang Ning An emerging victorious. The chapter ends with Wang Ning An feeling pleased and Han Qi being left in a state of shame and defeat.
