Summary

On April 4th, during the Great Wei's Hongde reign, a scandal erupted at the Confucius Temple when over a hundred identical exam essays were discovered. The Emperor Zhao Yuan Si was informed by his chief eunuch and was pleased with his son Zhao Hong Run's actions in uncovering the cheating. The Emperor summoned the chief examiner and co-examiners for interrogation, expressing his anger over their negligence. The Minister of Personnel and his deputies were also reprimanded for failing to supervise the examination. The Emperor ordered a thorough investigation and reassigned the examination oversight to the Ministry of Rites, establishing an inspectorate to regulate officials and court ceremonies.
