Summary

Lu Xian, a small county town near the Yellow River, is in chaos as thousands flee due to an impending threat. Soldiers struggle to manage the fleeing crowd while bandit forces gather at the riverbank. Dou Jiande, leading the bandits, prepares for battle as Zheng Lin's county soldiers, mostly untrained and cowardly, begin to panic and flee. Meanwhile, Zhang Xuan, stationed in Qizhou, is alerted to Dou Jiande's movements and considers seeking assistance but is wary of potential traps. Shi Da, attempting to move his troops south, faces setbacks as the Sui navy discovers and destroys his hidden vessels.
