Chapter 46: The Truth of Qiyu Village (Part 3). [46]

Summary

In the village of Yu Cun, Ruan Kaihuang's legacy of peace ended with his son Ruan Xin, who, in a bid to assert authority, removed a monk's head from the temple, unleashing chaos and death. Desperate, Ruan Xin married a woman who brought temporary peace, but she died in childbirth, leaving behind a daughter, the Shaman Woman. She exploited the villagers, hoarding wealth and orchestrating sacrifices of outsiders to quell the growing resentment from the dead. As tourism flourished, the village's dark truth emerged, revealing a cycle of violence and moral decay. Liu Chengfeng and Ning Qiushui recognized the impending backlash from the accumulated resentment, realizing their mission was to rescue Sister Bai and restore balance, as only the monk could suppress the vengeful spirits.
