Summary

Ruan Kaihuang deceived the villagers, leading them to murder Guang Xiu, their benefactor, whose death coincided with the end of a devastating drought. Ruan then manipulated the villagers into believing Guang Xiu angered the gods, allowing him to rise to power. He brutally killed Guang Xiu's son and kidnapped his wife, Zhu Nanyu, subjecting her to horrific torture until her death. Following these atrocities, Ruan faced terrifying consequences as vengeful spirits began to haunt the village, causing gruesome deaths among the villagers. In desperation, Ruan sought help from a monk, who revealed that the spirits' wrath could only be quelled through a sacrificial ritual involving the monk's own death.
