Summary

The Yang residence is undergoing renovations, with Li Yu overseeing the dismantling of neighboring houses. Despite the chaos, his own home remains mostly intact but feels desolate. Zuo Zuo, Li Yu's wife, is managing the household with a young maid, Xiao Yun. Zuo Zuo reflects on traditional confinement practices for new mothers, which she cleverly circumvents due to her Western heritage.
